project 16,427
With just over two weeks left before I have to return to school, I've decided to tackle a couple of projects. The first is to "clean up" my computer, mostly my images, and create backups. I also need to order some prints, as I haven't done that in a over a year. Imagine!
Well, my friends, I have. . . . 16,427 images in iPhoto; that's a whopping 44.2 GB of images! Some are good, some not so good. Some are worth keeping but many need deleting.
16,427! They date back to May 2007. Do you know how much time it will take me to go through this many images? I do because I have begun the task, and I am slowly, very slowly, making progress; it seems unending! Forget keywords, ratings or flags! Thank goodness that iPhoto automatically organizes the files.
How do you prevent this from happening?

I think the best way would be to go by the "do it now" rule, preferably as you download your photos. Unfortunately, I never remember that rule ...
If you figure it out, please let me know! In bocca al lupo!
I need to do the same thing. A couple of years ago I totally erased all of my photos. I was able to recover some that I had on my blog but I really really need to back up more !! I also need to do some printing but sheesh ... there are just sooooo many to print ! and so many to choose from ! I wonder how many I have in my iphoto ? I should check ...
Happy Sorting !!!
I usually download my photos within a day or two of taking them and then at the end of the month I copy them on to cd. I can't image having htat many photos to work with. Good luck!
