Baking Hearts to Perfection

Usually when I want seasonal sugar cookies to decorate, I request some from Mr. Duncan, and . . . voila! . . . I have perfect sugar cookies to embellish, to frost, to sprinkle, to wrap up just so.
Just like that.
No. You can't have him. He's my husband. I found him first. I've already birthed his perfect daughter.

I thought it high time that I engage in this activity solo; therefore, I made my first-ever batch from start to finish. Yes, this was the absolute first time I've rolled cookie dough with a pin. I really was serious when I wrote previously that this baking is a new-found hobby.

Truthfully, I did get some help.

You didn't actually believe that I was able to complete all of it alone? The heavily sprinkled treats are courtesy of our oh-so-helpful-in-the-kitchen four year old who has been having a love affair with sprinkles for nearly three years now.

She has, you know, helped me to redefine perfection. I had big plans for decorating these cookies; she had other ideas.

Didn't she do a wonderful job?
Love is grand.

Happy Valentine's Day :)
xoxo
