Busy Weekend

We had lots of activity this weekend and were a bit worried about Gustav – which seems to have been a normal hurricane that received way too much national press.  It was a bit annoying that the focus was so much on New Orleans when there were clearly other areas that would be affected far worse than New Orleans. . .and I can understand pronouncing a name wrong the first time, but, come one, to say it incorrectly each time you open your mouth. . . . . .

If you want to know how concerned the media and the Republicans REALLY are about the Gulf Coast, take a trip there and leave the French Quarter.  There is still much of the city of New Orleans that has not been rebuilt. Please.

One important thing that occurred this weekend was Maddy’s first day of year two of preschool.  She was so happy to go – and then so sad for us to leave.   The best news is that Maddy has the same teacher as last year, Marzia . . . we really like her . . . . AND, even better, there are only 8 kids in her class -- all of whom were there last year. (We are sad that 3 did not return.)   These conditions make the monthly tuition payment a bit easier to swallow.
