Let There Be Light

We’ve been working each afternoon this week on installing lights.  I already have several vintage chandeliers that I’ve collected over the last few years.  I actually have a “chandelier lady,” a very kind Italian woman named Luciana whose hobby is restoring old chandeliers.  Her supply is mainly from apartments and villas in Venice that are updated for more modern fixtures.   I usually see her once a month at the antique market in the town of Piazzola sul Brenta; unfortunately, I’ll miss it this Sunday in favor of a “volksmarch” near our town. (That’s German for a hike, or walk.)

The light on the stairway is a simple white ceramic one that we purchased at Ovvio – which is a store sort of like Ikea, but Italian. . . a bit more style.
