10:15, 22:15, two hours before midnight, quarter past ten. . . . yep, that's when we sang "Tanti Auguri" and "Happy Birthday" to the three kids (ages 5, 4, & 4) and one grandma (62 -- it was on the cake) last night in Lumignano. Why so late? Simply -- the heat. The party starts late because of the heat and goes on into the cool evening. We left a little past midnight; Maddy was done -- threw a wicked tantrum and promptly feel asleep in the car.
Today we confirmed the order for the air conditioning for our house, something else that does not come standard in homes here.
