Our (Public) Parking Lot

A while ago, a neighbor told us that the private parking lot would eventually be given to the town of Lumignano and would be open to the public. Well. . . it just did not seem thinkable to us, so we didn't pursue it further. It was confirmed today by an Italian neighbor that it would indeed become a public lot eventually. (The climbers and hikers flock to Lumignano in good weather.) Ugghhhh. . . .I hate the thought of it. The three Italian neighbors that we spoke with today did not seem at all bothered by it. Their solution -- we all park our cars there ALL the time, and well, there will never be a spot for the strangers. Of course, why didn't I think of that. It's so simple. I'm afraid that this isn't over yet. I'm paranoid (admittedly so) of strangers and Maddy and the whole abduction thing. I'd like to see a gate at the entrance to the lot, but I guess that is now out of the question.

This is one of our young friends and his mom who joined us to see the progress of the house recently. He is just now mastering his two-wheeled bike, and took a chance to ride a bit in our black-topped paradise.
