Barely a Yard

We were the first to submit an offer on the house, so we had our choice of sides. Ghiotti recommended the opposite side from the one we chose; for us there was no question because of the front "yard." Even though ours is tiny, it is twice the size of the one next door. We are considering tiling the entire thing to create a patio there. It will depend greatly on the additional cost and the state of the budget at the time the decision must be made.

Hopefully we can paint the funky silver metal gate and fence black to coordinate with the iron on the rest of the house. The black railing / guards on the doors on the ground level will be removed once the house is completed. Italian building codes require them there now for saftey reasons. I can understand the reason for them on the other doors because of the potential fall. On the front of the house, at ground level? Who knows?
