Corner View / Italy:  "Menu al Dia"

Images from my iPhone of Saturday's dinner with good friends at Trattoria alla Grotta in Nanto:

Everyone at the table enjoyed a Bis for the first course-- a little taste of two first course dishes:
Risotto with Tartufo (black truffles) and Savory Crepes with Radicchio, Cheese (?), & Tartufo.

For the second course we all selected different things from the menu.  The first images is struzzo (ostrich), while the second image is a selection of three grilled meats: cervo (deer), cinghiale (wild boar), and manzo (beef).

The sides included greens, mushrooms, and potatoes.

Ahhh.... the dolce:  this cake is made of almonds, ricotta, and chocolate.  Mamma Mia!

Lots of local wine and mineral water. . .
Great conversations, lots of smiles and laughs, quaint setting,
kiddos @ home with the babysitter
Warm Hearts
Good Times

*Yes, last week's theme inspired me to learn to get the photos off of my iPhone.  Well, that, and there are just some times that I won't pull out my monster of a camera.

The meat looks fantastic! I have never thought of drizzeling Basalmic vinegar on it. I bet it was tasty.
