sewing lesson

I had a little sewing lesson from one of the visiting Neapolitans, the mother of a friend and neighbor. Mr. Duncan mentioned that I had a machine & made some joke about how he bought it for me x number of years ago, yet I still don't know how to use it . . . Ha. Ha. Ha.
Not exactly accurate. Anyhow, next thing I know, I'm picking a good date and time for a "lesson."

As expected, what was to be a lesson turned into Signora Ida hemming my linen sheers. . .all 4 panels. . . and a fine job she did, I might add.

She suggested I start with a simpler, smaller project.
Okay, signora, if you say so.
Grazie, lo stesso. (Thanks, the same.)
The sheers look fantastic. I was wondering if you would mind showing me how to properly clean these floors?

I think I could do with a Signora Ida myself.

If I bought a machine it would sit unused too.

I've had my machine now for 6 years...and I think I've pulled it out 4 times! I could sure use Signor Ida here and would love lessons! Think she'd come tutor me in Rome?

I just bought my first sewing machine and have no hopes that I will ever be able to sew something more complicated than tablecloth ;)

Have a happy weekend!
