Not until a recent Sunday, when the property was open to the public for Cantine Aperte, have I considered stopping in for a visit. For a bit more about the history of the garden, visit here.

Just lovely.

In addition to strolling through the gardens, we were able to visit the cantina, where the wine is stored in ancient caves or covoli, as they are known locally (in the dialect?).

Private guided tours in English to include the villa, gardens, cantina & wine tasting are available by contacting the villa. The wine . . . eh . . . not my favorite but not the worst I've ever had, certainly.
