The celebrations continue in the Piazza dei Bambini -- that's what Mr. Duncan and I have named the communal parking lot where life's important moments often happen; Sunday was Matteo's big day for #5.

Nonno thought it wise to include baby Daniele in on the celebration. Unfortunately, this gave the five and six year olds present permission to follow suit. The cake from the favored Pasticceria Orchidea was so tempting no adult dared refuse a piece, germs or not.

What fun! A pinata! There were eventually tears; I'll leave it up to your imagination to decide on the cause.

Essentially the same kids gathered to celebrate in 2008. I'm now looking forward to a collection of these photos as we all journey onward.
