corner view
9: corner view out of your back window or door

Though we are immersed in nature's goodness in our little paese, the truth is that outside of my back door is a . . . . . communal blacktop parking lot; we've named it Piazza dei Bambini because of the constant presence of one kid or another.

The View from My Back Door Sunday June 7 @ 9:35 am
(The garage door has a smaller door inset, but we often just open the big door to let the light shine in, just as you see it pictured here.)

My girl has either an incredibly keen sense of hearing or a sixth sense as she can detect the opening of this door from behind two closed doors and up two flights of stairs; she demands to be allowed to "look for the kids" upon discovery of the open door. Funny how the aesthetics has absolutely no effect on the 7 kids who are regulars.

Could this be the reason?
I mean, just look at all of the open play space. . . .
Park at your own risk :)

I had years of fun playing with neighbor kids in a grim courtyard in a city, and never noticied the aesthetics either!

Piazza dei Bambini - I love it! It's like kids have radar and/or ESP; they know when play time is imminent.

I love this view...especially the documentary style in the first pic. The kids must love having a large communal space like this and what a perfect spot for water balloon battles...good way to stay cool during the summer.

I can only imagine all the sweet laughter you must hear everyday!

THanks for all of the lovely comments. You know, the Piazza dei Bambini is working for us, blacktop and all. Again, we have been fortunate to live among Italians who have been welcoming. It's a good thing.

That's great that the there are so many kids in the neighborhood to play with... I'm sure it will make for some really great memories, not to mention that the mountains in the background are pretty spectacular.

It looks as though you have a great back garden stretching away into the hills.

Ha, we live in a townhouse community right now with a shared green space and the minute my boys go outside, suddenly all the other neighborhood kids appear instantly as well. They must all have that sense!
