7: cityscapes
I live in a village in Northern Italy. . . not much of a cityscape here.
I did travel further south this weekend, so I'm sharing a "cityscape" of one of the places I visited: the medieval town of San Gimignano.

The city is well-known for the towers that cover the architectural landscape.

The Torre Grossa (pictured above) is open for climbing by the ambitious and offers incredible views of the surrounding countryside.

Take a tour here, why don't you?
Wonderful place -- but. . . way too many tourists on a Sunday in late May for my taste. Save it for the off season, but don't miss it :) I just realized that all of my visits to towns in Umbria & Tuscany have been in the off season or shoulder season. Smart.
Oh, and sorry. . . .not exactly a city, is it? And, uh, how could I leave out the landscape shot?
You can find more views here.

I agree, you couldn't: it's so much part of tuscanyscapes!
There were lots and lots of peeps in SG when we were there too, but in early morning we almost had it to ourselves. I really do like the area, but this past weekend we headed into the deep south, Matera, and I loved, loved, loved it!
third travel in Italy with corner view !! I love it ! i'm coming...
Buongiorno Dana!
I knew I would find beautiful photos here. They make me want to explore Italy even more.

Your photos make me want to grab my watercolors and paint! Thanks for the tour :)
GORGEOUS! I want to explore your city!
Such pretty pictures. Thanks for sharing.
You live in a gorgeous looking place
Ah! Mi piace molto (I used to speak Italian once...). I love your photos, the perfect escape from the city, if not a cityscape! :)
Hi Dana, to answer you question about where one can enjoy the view over Verona...I really don't know the name of the Castle, but it's above the Teatro Romano in the city part named Borgo Trento. You have to drive up this hill, till the top where you find this castle and park on the terrace with different views over Verona. It's absolutely beautiful. That picture is just a tiny part of the whole scenery over Verona. Hope you'll visit it one day!
Oh, those photos are stunning and totally capture what I think of when I think of Italy! Beautiful!
Happy Day!
Amazing pictures!
Gorgeous picgures! Is that grapes growing?
oops - that's pictures
beautiful landscape and architecture!
Gorgeous, can't wait for our trip to Italy and France this summer!
Breathtaking photos! When we lived in Spain we got spoiled visiting all the "touristy" sites during the low season. We were back visiting recently during the high season and couldn't get over how many tourist there were! Morocco isn't quite the tourist destination as Spain so we don't see too many tourist here.
Anyways!
Best wishes from Morocco,
Tina
