Mr. Duncan has a sister who works and works and works and works and then, works some more.

She and her husband are here for a week of la dolce vita, so we'll be out and about a bit. She has visited Italy several times previously -- we aren't in for the whirlwind nonstop tour. (That's a good thing as none of us is up for that right about now.)

Madelyn & Zio in Valpolicella

Our first stop: Valpolicella. After a late start, a bit of traffic, a forgotten list of recommended cantine (wineries), a broken GPS, a change to Plan B, a wrong turn, and absolutely too much time in the car . . . things did get a bit better with an excellent, albeit unplanned, lunch at Locanda del Bugiardo of the Buglioni family.

Madelyn is overjoyed to be with her zia & zio.
