L'acqua

Maddy has begun to recognize public water taps.

Murano

Upon sighting one, she is immediately suffering from great thirst -- every single time. Thirsty Girl.
Ho un po di sete, Mamma.

Riva del Garda

Even though I spent my childhood drinking directly from the garden hose (or hose pipe) when a thirst needed quenching, it makes me a bit queasy or uneasy to have her do essentially the same thing. Perhaps it's the publicness of it all. . . at least our hose was our hose alone and not the hose of the masses. Mr. Duncan, a nearly 25 year resident of Italia, assures me that it is a-okay. Good for her, in fact. Hmmmm. . . .

My daughter does the same thing here in Rome. The temptation is just too great to keep her away!

I love that public fountain contortion! As a native resident, I can assure you that it is ok, as long as only the water goes in the mouth (and not the very public spout)
