Gusti Berici Images

We did make it to Gusti Berici Saturday.
Nice. . . a low-key, slow-paced, small town kind of nice.

It was held at the Palazzo Rosso farm in Ponte di Lumignano.

Vendors offered up tastes of local, organic products. . . to include organic salami. Does that make the pig organic? Can pigs be organic?

Maddy always enjoys a good sand pit.
It was chilly. The bare feet in the cold weather did not go unnoticed. Luckily, no one felt compelled to tell me to have her put on her shoes. Don't laugh! I have been chided in the past for not dressing her warmly enough.

Kitchen utensils, bowls, and carving boards carved from woods like cherry, chestnut, oak, and olive were on display and available for purchase. How could you resist these when the unassuming carver is there having his organic pasta & frittata as you peruse his work?

The food offerings were local products: It's not haute cuisine by any stretch of the imagination, but it is a different type of prepared Italian food not readily available to us in other places. If I were an excellent blogger, then I would have noted the names of all of these things in Italian. Instead. . . we have a cheese plate & a vegetarian plate, plus a couple of bowls of pasta.

It just makes me happy that she will gladly eat a bowl of green pasta tossed with herbs and nuts, and that water is a perfectly acceptable beverage. Italians just do food better than us. Period.

There was even a selection of used books from Cooperativa Insieme. (Did you know that they will pick up donations of used furniture and goods from your house? It turned out to be quite handy for us when we needed to dispose of some large furniture items before moving into the new place. )

The sagra season has begun. Sagra dei Bisi (dialect for peas) is being held the 3rd & 4th weekend in May in our little paese of Lumignano. The Western DJ will return on 15 May.

Have that child put her shoes on!
I had to tell you:) (she's lucky, she'd need rain boots around here)
I didn't know about organic pigs, but I don't think any kind of pig is going to have an easy life nowadays.
Looks like you had fun. Actually, it looks like you are the kind of people who fun anywhere.
