2: breakfast
A weekend breakfast treat at a Sicilian Bar & Pasticceria in Northern Italy:

La Ciambella e Succo di Pera
(A deep-fried, sugar-coated, over-sized ring of doughy goodness and a side of thick pear juice. She abandoned it after four little bird bites. Happens every time.)

That's one gigantic ciambella! That's actually something I noticed in Sicily: lots and lots of sweets, that usually came in huge portions - something I've never really seen in Italy before.
PS Did you get to finish it:)?
My god that dough ring is HUGE! I have never seen anything like it :)
Aaaahhh.....drooooollll!!
I'm not surprised she couldn't finish it: it's big enough to sink the Titanic.
No way! I WANT ONE! I promise I´ll eat the whole thing!:)
Really enjoying this whole corner view thing...all these interesting peeks at breakfast tables around the world! And like everyone else I can't get over the size of that...puts our Krispy Kreme doughnuts to shame.
really huge!
Send the rest my way !!! I don't mind the four bird bites missing !!! ha ha.
whenever I'm in Italy I like passing the pasticcerias!! all the delicous things you can find there! it's a dream!
a friend of mine once ate a "iris" (I'm not sure how it's spelled in Italian) - she was not hungry any more for the rest of the day...
;-)
That's a big donut. And I would so like one now!!
Nice picture!
I want one!!!
Is lunch time in Argentina right now and all the post are making me hungry!!!
Great breakfast!
that looks yummi! my boys would love a treat like that too. and then they'd probably spent the next 20 minutes licking of the sugar coating. personally i'd go for the whole thing :)
That thing is as big as my head! I love it and think I could eat two! (My eyes are always a little hungrier than my stomach though :)
Thanks for sharing this very huge and delicious looking breakfast with me. YUM!!

Oh my goodness! Do you think this bakery ships to the States?! I so.... would take a big bite.
Did you finish it? That was my first thought, because I would have :)
mmmm yummmy!
Mums, mums ;o), lovely to visit you in Italy, greeting from a Dutch in Sweden!
Oh my! How sweet and filling!
I didn't finish it because her Dad & I split something sort of similar, only with ricotta inside. Delicious. Luckily, the bar is not conveniently located near our house.
Darling photos!
Oh, I'll take one! No, make that two!!
