2: breakfast

A weekend breakfast treat at a Sicilian Bar & Pasticceria in Northern Italy:

La Ciambella e Succo di Pera
(
A deep-fried, sugar-coated, over-sized ring of doughy goodness and a side of thick pear juice. She abandoned it after four little bird bites. Happens every time.)

See Jane @ Spain Daily for her corner view,
and for more views of breakfast
in other corners of the world visit:

ladybug-zen, ian, bonnie, esti, sophie, cele, modsquad, caitlin, joyce, ani, couturecoucou, kim, a day that is dessert, natsumi, epe, kaylovesvintage, trinsch, c.t.,

Check back next Wednesday for Corner View #3: Modes of Transportation (I've already decided on my subject, I think -- may not be what you'd expect.)

That's one gigantic ciambella! That's actually something I noticed in Sicily: lots and lots of sweets, that usually came in huge portions - something I've never really seen in Italy before.
PS Did you get to finish it:)?

I'm not surprised she couldn't finish it: it's big enough to sink the Titanic.

Really enjoying this whole corner view thing...all these interesting peeks at breakfast tables around the world! And like everyone else I can't get over the size of that...puts our Krispy Kreme doughnuts to shame.

whenever I'm in Italy I like passing the pasticcerias!! all the delicous things you can find there! it's a dream!
a friend of mine once ate a "iris" (I'm not sure how it's spelled in Italian) - she was not hungry any more for the rest of the day...

that looks yummi! my boys would love a treat like that too. and then they'd probably spent the next 20 minutes licking of the sugar coating. personally i'd go for the whole thing :)

Oh my! How sweet and filling!

I didn't finish it because her Dad & I split something sort of similar, only with ricotta inside. Delicious. Luckily, the bar is not conveniently located near our house.
