Maddy on Jan. 20 during President Obama's Speech
Will you remember where you were or what you were doing on this day in history?
Will you remember where you were or what you were doing on this day in history?
We also have this Nikki Grimes book thanks to Aunt Penny: Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope, and have read it to her several times.

She's on her way to responsible citizenship -- but not without a few stumbles.
Here are some things we've heard from her this week:
1. "Momma, can Barack Obama see me right now? He knows everything. Can he see me right now like Jesus? like Santa?"
2. Will Smith appears on the tv: "Momma, it's Barack Obama." Denzel Washington: "It's Barack Obama." Any random man of color: "It's Barack Obama."
We forced her to sit quietly through the inaugural speech. She squirmed and shimmied and twirled and climbed -- but she tried sooo hard. And I have to say, did a pretty good job for a four year old girl.
After all, President Obama might be watching. . . along with Jesus and Santa.
And how cool is this?

I made them here.
