Unlike the sledding experience, we did not bring harm to others.
Both Maddy and I were a little hesitant at first, though Mr. Duncan and Uncle D were like old pro's on the ice from the start. I never really felt entirely comfortable, but Maddy soon ventured on her own a bit.
Good, clean, family fun.

I don't know the appropriate German term, but these little skater helpers were pretty useful for us. I even used one to gain a little confidence.

Uncle D befriended this little girl and her mom. Her dad? On the sidelines because his "feet hurt"! Uncle D felt for mom and took over the oldest of her girls.
That's why we love him.
He's just like that.
Maddy especially liked the girl because her name is "Dana."

It was loads of fun.
My life will, however, be complete if I never have to ice skate again.
I did fall, in case you were wondering.
Baby Girl was tuckered out in the end, giving us a few minutes in peace to enjoy a couple of ice cold German beers with Uncle D.
