Tutti i Santi

Italians observe All Saints Day with great zeal, akin to the Baptism. Judging from this, one would believe them to be devout Catholics.
While they are indeed mostly Catholic, the level of devotion may be questionable. Across Italy churches are empty on Sunday mornings & the birth rate is very, very, very low.
What I appreciate about Catholicism Italian-style is that they continue to participate in the rituals as though it is part of their very beings.
Tradition, I call that.

I like tradition; in fact, I strive to create traditions for our Party of Three.
So while I was never good at observing the Holy Day of Obligation back when I was a younger Catholic, I decided to do so today, sort of.
We joined the Italians in the local cemetery. Each and every grave was covered in flowers. We missed the rush of visitors, but, believe me, they were there, young and old alike, departing en masse as we arrived.

Don't pick the flowers!

Playdate with Miss J today. . . just love Miss J, we've known her since Maddy was tiny. . . M&J: 2 silly, willy, nilly lil girls
