Screens + polvere

Italian vocabulary word of the day: polvere (dust, powder)

We now have a screen on each window in our house, even the basement.
They are pretty nifty as they can be raised.

The screen installation caused a complete and utter mess.

To install them, holes were drilled into the stone surrounding the window, thus creating a fine white dust.

This dust fills our house.

Imagine unleashing a container of baby powder throughout your house, and then adding just a few squirts of water for good measure.

Oh, yes.
A couple of doors were installed as well.

This, too, created a complete mess of things. Notice that the walls were broken to accomplish this installation.

We spent the better part of Saturday cleaning the mess of these workmen.
This is not a quick and easy cleaning job.
They always make and leave such a grand mess.
Unbelievable.

Sometimes it is just difficult to be positive about this house.

We also received an unexpected bill from the plumber.
The heating system, controlled by a fancy smancy upgraded thermostat device installed by the electrician, does not seem to be functioning properly.

Piano. Piano.
So they tell me.
