Wood

So last night the neighborhood was hopping -- many of the kids and adults were out for the evening. I learned that at leaste two of the families rely almost exclusively on wood to heat their homes. They have the biggest two in the quarter. They each have these huge wood burning furnaces in their basements. CRAZY! The wood? They chop down trees in the surrounding hills. Manuela proudly reported that her gas bill is only 25 Euro total for the winter months. Huh? Only 40 Euro for the summer.

That's all great. But really. . .come on. . . no way.
