Notaio and Bank Today

We stopped by the notaio's office today to deliver some documents that she needs to proceed. She shared a bit of the conversations that she had yesterday with the realtor, banker, architect, and Ghiotto. Realtor and banker -- a okay. Ghiotto and the architect -- completely unbelievable. She calls Ghiotto, who makes unintelligible jokes with her and tells her to call the architect. She calls the architect who tells her that he is leaving for vacation at the end of the week and that she needs to call Ghiotto and the engineer. She gets Ghiotto's wife on the phone, who is in the dark about the taxes that she will have to pay since the house is in her name. She gets Ghiotto on the phone again, who apologizes to "Miss Notaio" -- and finally tells her that he doesn't understand the hurry because he wasn't planning on finishing until after the August break.

What??? We have told him and Giorgio at least TEN or more times that we are moving at the end of the month. Not to mention the house was due at the end of April. And he wasn't going to finish it until after August. Piece of work!

I like this notaio, though she did let us know that normally all she should have to do is request the documents and they are delivered. Period. Signore Ghiotto is far from normal.

Meeting with bank went fine. We are still waiting on the appraised value of the house -- should know later today.

Again, the faith wanes -- not convinced that the "Richiesta di Agibilita" (all previous spellings incorrect) will be done this week. . . .
