The flooring on the main living floor (to include the kitchen and living room) will be "Veneziana." It is a popular choice in Vicenza and is considered very elegant. It is essentially a marble rock / cement floor -- I think similar floors can be found in malls and other public areas in the States; I haven't really seen them in residences. It is created by pouring the compound of marble rocks and cement infused marble pieces and then sanding it until it is level and smooth. It can last 200 years. We have it in our current rental apartment, and we like it as it is very easy to keep up. Color? It will be a tough choice. I've posted some pics from the company who will be doing ours. We will not be incorporating a fancy design.
