summer sunday: new orleans french quarter

This is a place that we both agree that we could some day call home during 2 seasons, the winter and Jazz Fest season.   Our visits are unfortunately always in the summer & generally pretty miserable because of that.  It's just too hot in July.  We go anyway.
I grew up in a rural town an hour outside of the city.  When Mr. Duncan & I  make the drive into the city each summer during the family visit,  no one wants to join us.  Can't say I blame them!   We spend a lot of time trying to stay hydrated;  luckily, it's easy to find any beverage of choice at any time in NOLA.

Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans?

Summer Sunday?
Wow.
We've just come down from a super-busy summer, and while I've tried to blog it a bit, I haven't had a chance to share many of the images, the hundreds of images I captured. I blog to share images, often to tell stories through images. I'm starting my own series: Summer Sunday; it may run short, may run long....may be regular, may be sporadic. So, if you stop by for a Sunday visit, be prepared.

Yes, I know all too well what it means to miss NOLA. Great pics but they made me homesick.

Did you go to the psychic of the stars? I visited New Orleans once in August, I loved it, and I don't remember the heat, but I was coming from Houston, and I do remember the humidity and heat there.

No visits to psychics, yet :) What I love most about them is that they sit right outside of the St. Louis Cathedral; it's impossible to avoid them upon exiting the church . . . contrasts & irony keep life interesting to me.

Hell YES! I went to Loyola University for 4 years and loved every single minute of it. We were supposed to move back to NOLA instead of going to Italy 4 years ago!!!! As much as I love New Orleans I'm so glad we went to Italy instead. To be honest, I don't think I've ever live somewhere I didn't like. I guess I'm lucky that way. Great pics, esp the bloody with the pickled bean!! YUM!! Buona Domenica!! K
