Last night was the third communal dinner out back in the same number of evenings. Maddy and I skipped offer #2 in favor of a quiet evening with the TV & AC. . . so American of us, I know.
Early yesterday morning I received a text message with the mention of cozze (mussels) requesting my presence at evening #3.
The visiting Neapolitans were in charge of the menu this time -- not wise to miss a dinner prepared by the visiting Neapolitans. It would be like missing a meal prepared by the visiting Cajuns, if the Cajuns would visit.

Nonna Ida & Zia prepared 3 kilos of pasta for the large group. Every single strand of it was gobbled up by the hungry crowd. Or was it that it was so good no one could resist? One. More. Bite.
No injuries to report yet with the tire swing above the blacktop; it's only a matter of time.
Here he is again! The littlest one in the hood. Don't you want to gobble him up, just like the pasta? In case you were wondering. . . while I am no culinary guru, I do have a bag of tricks & have been contributing to these evenings. The 50 cupcakes for night #1 and the chocolate nut brownies for night #3 were a hit. Next up. . . chocolate chip cookies (from scratch this time.) Italians seem to appreciate American baked goods, even those of the Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines variety. Shhhhhhh!!!!!

Did I read this right, are you going to bake in this heat:)? I'm sure your chocolate chip cookies will be an even bigger hit, Dana!
i did. i have rationalized keeping both ac units running 24 hours a day for the 2 weeks before school starts. hey...they weren't used in most of june and all of july. i can overdo it a few weeks in august :) the house stays really cool. the oven can be on for 30 minutes without a big consequence. without that ac, there is no way i would consider it.
Seriously, you are making me hungry. I think I just might come to your house.
This is very sweet, I could only dream of doing this ... manga!
haha! I am also a fan of easy american baking to impress all italians!
