President Obama is in the House!

Mr. Duncan traveled to Napoli recently and was able to fulfill my desire for the President Obama figure for my presepe.

Upon arriving at Via San Gregorio Armeno and asking around a bit, he learned that there are not many craftsmen / storefronts currently creating the Obama figure; he was directed to Rosairo e Gennaro Di Virgilio.




There were two options: the 30 Euro or 300 Euro versions. Mr. Duncan wisely selected the smaller terra cotta figure. For goodness sakes, it's not like it's Padre Pio we are talking about here!

It doesn't look much like Barack Obama, except for maybe those ears.
We'll display him for a while before tucking him away with the other presepe pieces. Maybe you'll see him in December herding the sheep or selling the cozze.



Why? Because we can and because it's fun. . . that's all . . . and, then there's that whole "hope" thing that we are still feeling long past January.
