Always Consider the Source

This place is a hop, skip, & a jump from our lovely Lumignano.

Rose bushes are planted in vineyards at the head or start of the row of vines in order to alert the farmers to potential diseases. It seems that roses are vulnerable to the same types of diseases as the the grapes and are likely to contract them sooner than the grape vines. Modern technologies make them mostly unnecessary today; however, it is not an uncommon sight to see.

Someone once told me that it was because of bees and pollination. I believed her. Idiot. Me, not her. I think I'll go with the second source, the sommelier / colleague.

Is this a current picture? Are things already growing by you? We got another 12 inches of snow in MA last week. It feels like winter will never end.

No, no, no! It is not a current pic. I should have mentioned that. We are just now starting to see a bit of green.
