No more night-time viewing for the neighbors.
Danke Anette.

We still have to cover the window in the kitchen (and a few upstairs, later).
I was thinking of a coordinating print.
What do you think?
More stripes or mix it up?
I've posted some more swatches at the end.

I had them made by Anette Stephens; a wonderfully helpful designer in North Carolina who I was able to find online. Her website is a little psychedelic, but she produces a quality product at a very reasonable price and is extremely professional.
Luckily, after six months of hearing Mr. Duncan complain about the free show we were giving the neighbors, I found Anette.
It's an Amy Butler fabric with a light-colored lining on the opposite side; it seems a little lighter, actually, than this swatch.

I am considering one of these (from the same collection of fabric) for the little window in the kitchen. I really do feel like we need a dash of color as well as a bit of a pattern in there.
"Coriander" is the name of this one. (Secret -- neither of us cares for cilantro.)

I think that this is my favorite. Too much?
I think it has just enough whimsy, with a touch of British Colonial. (Or maybe not, what do I know?)
The shade will probably be in the "up" position 90% of the time.

This fabric is called "French Wallpaper."
I love France.

This one -- "Kashmir."

Really -- I'd love to hear what you think!
I'm also looking for a pattern reminiscent of Southern France, something with the bee. Any leads?
If you've never commented before, now is your time. I welcome your opinion.

I vote for the second one, or the first one. Can you use a little of the stripes as trim on the cutrian to tie it together.
Hi Dana, loving the blog although it's infuriating how clean your house is all the time :) I like the coriander pattern, but I AM a lover of cilantro!

LOL. My house is NOT that clean, believe me! What you did not see in the other half of this photo was Maddy's entire doll and stuffed animal collection spread across the couches and chairs. This was in addition to her tea set and Pony's, her two chairs, etc. It all pretty much stayed there the entire weekend. You can still see a trace of doll clothing under the table if you look closely.
Maybe I'll take some photos of "real life" some day. It's just so. . . .messy.
I love the French Wallpaper one... which is odd as I usually steer clear of greens! The stripes were a wonderful choice. Can you come decorate my house??? ;) We've been here nearly 8 years and I still have many empty walls. Pitiful, I know...

Love your beautiful kitchen with all of those windows and great light. And I love the coriander/cilantro fabric (but I am also on a big cilantro/lime kick right now so maybe that is influencing my vote!). Actually all of the choices look great. Have fun choosing. Did you find the Amy Butler fabric in Italy? or have it shipped there? what are the fabric stores like in Italy?
Me again, forgot to say thanks for your blog comment. We must be on at the same time. I was playing around with uploading posts from flickr and I accidently deleted the post with your comment but I just uploaded a new one...oops.
Hi! Thanks for your input. I have seen Amy Butler fabrics here; but I do often order online. The fabric stores in the North are pretty darn good -- albeit a bit pricey. It is hard to resist though, I tell you.
I like the British Colonial and the French Wallpaper. I'm sure that whatever you choose, though, will look great. The whole house looks great!

So funny!! I have ALL (but one) of those fabrics. I am addicted to fabric and bought them when I was back in California - a year ago- to make my first ever quilt for my little girl which I still have not touched!
There is no way I could ever decide! I love them all. You just can't go wrong.
