Seem a bit familiar? Perhaps you've had the cheese.
Monday was a holiday for us, and so I learned, a great day for sledding without the crowds and traffic associated with Asiago and other towns of the altopiano.
Fun in the snow is completely new to me, so I feel a need to explain this outing to my family in the South.
Step 1: Dress appropriately to include -- long johns or any type of polyester long underwear; good snow boots, hats, gloves, scarves; sunglasses; snow pants (adults may get by without them & suffer the cold wet); waterproof coat; wool socks. Yadda, yadda, yadda.
Step 2: Rent sleds and buy ticket to ride. I also rented helmets for Maddy and neighbor Bambino M, who we brought along for the day.
Step 3: Hop upon the conveyor belt to the top. Funny. I know.

Step 4: Let it rip! And don't forget to use the breaks.

We were invited by a friend to join the group, and by the end of the morning several other familiar families arrived. I suppose lots of people are aware of the sledding on Monday morning tip.

This is actually Mr. Duncan and our friendly neighbor guy.

Some friends loving the ride --

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this activity, nor how much I wish I could share it with my sister and her family. The screaming? Totally for the thrill effect. Totally.

Step 5: Repeat as many times as possible before 13:00 when the ticket to ride expires.
Maddy went down twice before hanging it up for the day.
I suppose it was just way too scary for her.
She found other adventures.

She did have a great time playing on a smaller hill nearby with some buddies.

And when she almost hit a bench, she asked to put her helmet back on.
Who does this cautious child belong to?

Maddy actually snapped this shot.
I rarely post pics of me here -- but dang. . .
I have to tell you, it was just that kind of day.
