The instructions (or my loose understanding):
With the help of Mom and Dad draw or write about a situation that makes you either happy or sad.
(I left off the writing option when giving Maddy the instructions. Draw, Baby, it's your strength anyway. )
Ice cream with her Dad makes Maddy happy, evidently . . . even in the dead of the coldest winter of her life -- strawberry and mint chocolate chip, to be exact.
