Paper Cups With Lids & Straws for Kids
We were in complete and utter shock when upon exiting a coffee bar in Vicenza and leaving a pretty full glass of juice behind on the little table, the Italian woman behind the counter offered us a paper cup with a lid and straw. It is so unusual that it would not even cross our minds to ask for it, ever. We usually can't even get a plastic cup in a restaurant, much less paper with a lid to go.
Shocking.
Consequently, the kids can act like civilized human beings and drink from glasses. (Admittedly, though she is excellent now, Maddy has broken several over the past few years.)
