Stairs Nearly Done / Plumber Absent

The plumber is missing. He was supposed to be there Wednesday, and then Thursday, and now. . . no sign of him Friday. Unbelievable.

Doussie Africa -- that's the wood. Same as upstairs.

They'll do the finishing work Saturday.
Check this out --- makes us just a bit worried. They'll fill the holes with a spray silicone substance. The same silicone was used in the frames of the windows.

This stuff -- unlike the flooring installed in the zona notte -- is real thick wood. Strangely (at least to me) the kick boards or vertical stair boards are made of particle board. Why would they do that? I'm sure that there is some reason. . . right? I hope to see the installation guy tomorrow to ask. Won't it wear differently over time?
