We opted for a small European fridge -- but this one has only a very small freezer space, leaving more room for the fridge below. It has a cabinet front. We'll probably put a full-sized fridge in the garage.

Not the kitchen -- but Richard gets a kick out of the skinny little door for the powder room.

Lots of drawers in the kitchen. It's all wood. The drawers can't be slammed shut -- pretty cool easy glide system.

These baskets help to make the best use of the space, especially the snake one down at the bottom.

This is Riccardo cutting the counter top.

For the range

Maddy in Ferrucio's garden . . .patiently waiting for us to go home.

The "porfido" counter top has lots of imperfections. It's natural rock -- what do you expect. . . they tell me. Not so sure I would have selected this material had I known of the imperfections in advance.

View from a ladder. Compact, but functional.

A pretty common kitchen element here is this system found about the sink. It's designed to be used as a place to dry the dishes after hand washing. Yes, we have a dishwasher.
