Dates Have Been Set

It's looking good. Today we FINALLY got the paperwork from the architect; we visited the bank, only to learn that yet additional documents are needed. Let's hope we don't have to wait on the architect to get these.

Saw the plumber today. This evening we'll make a last minute trek out to a warehouse to see if it's possible to select some fixtures like mirrors and such; if not -- it'll have to wait.

Friday 7/10 @ 7:30 am: meet with painter (different guy) to finalize the colors. We met with him once already, and he was not fond of all of my color choices so he suggested that I meet him again as he starts the painting. I would imagine that I don't have the same taste in wall colors as 60 year old Italian men. Should be interesting.

I think that the painting will be done this weekend.

Mon. 7/14 -- Begin installation of windows and doors and baseboards. The glass for the windows has been delivered.
Tues. 7/15: Appraiser visits for the bank.

Wed. 7/16: Begin installation of wood floors. Before installation, they will test the "moisture level" of the concrete sub flooring, and if the level is too high, then they won't be able to proceed with the installation.

Mon.7/21: Begin installation of closets and kitchen. The materials for the closets are waiting in the garage.

Mon.7/28: Movers arrive at our apartment in Vicenza. Whether or not the other things stay on schedule matters not. We are moving. Period.

Wed. 7/30: Maddy and I head to the States.

Finally, the railings are growing on me, though I'm not exactly in love with them. I don't like the decorative do-dads. I mean, I like them, and asked for them and even sat with the iron smith and sketched them. I just think that these are out of proportion -- they need to be a bit bigger.
