Lunch Date

A few weeks ago we had a Sunday lunch with Ghiotto, his wife Angela, and our (soon-to-be) neighbors. The lunch went fine, and we actually discovered that the neighbors are quite nice folks. In fact, Richard and Fillipo have much in common, mainly the love of food and cooking. The lunch date was a bit of a mystery to us, as when Ghiotto called to invite us, he spoke in dialect. We don't get the dialect. So we rendevoused at the house at the given time, and, yes, it was lunch, and what a surprise to have the neighbors along. We winded through the Berici Hills to a nondescript restaurant where the food was plain but good. (Couldn't quite understand the waitress as she spurted out the daily offerings.) Ahhhh. . . and then the guys who is doing the iron work on the staircase appears with a book. I'm sure that this would have been clear from the start had Ghiotto spoken in Italian. We asked for a simple design.
